The Musée Rodin opened in 1919 in the Hotel Biron and displays works by the French sculptor Auguste Rodin. Rodin used the Hôtel Biron as his residence from 1908, and subsequently donated  his  entire collection of sculptures (along with paintings by Vincent van Gough and Pierre-Auguste Renoir that he had acquired) to the French State on the condition that they turn the building into a museum dedicated to his works. The Musée Rodin contains most of Rodin’s significant creations, including The Thinker and The Kiss. Many of his sculptures are displayed in the museum’s extensive garden. The museum is one of the most accessible museums in Paris. The gardens around the museum building contain  many  of  the  famous  sculptures in natural settings. The museum has also a room dedicated to works of Camille Claudel.

For your next museum you will head to the Musée de l’Orangerie which is housed in the former Orangery of the Tuileries Gardens, built in 1852. The building now houses one of French impressionist painter Claude Monet’s most luminous achievements: Les Nymphéas, a series of eight murals which took four years to complete and represent a meditation on peace (the work was completed over the course of World War I, making it all the more poignant.)

L’Orangerie is also home to an exhibit of 19th and 20th century art known as the Jean Walter and Paul Guillaume collection, featuring noteworthy works from Cézanne, Matisse, Modigliani or Picasso.

Entrance tickets are included to both muséums.

2.00 PM Your guide will leave you at the end of the tour and your driver will transfer you to Le Bristol hotel for afternoon tea (included).

Le Jardin Français elegantly reflects a more spontaneous side of Paris life where you can enjoy a delicious  and  light  breakfast  or lunch,  or  an  informal  dinner.  At teatime Le Jardin Francais serves a classic English-style afternoon tea. In fine weather, guests can sit outside on the terrace of the hotel’s magnificent garden.

Back to the hotel to freshen up and relax.

Dinner will be at your leisure tonight.
